Holmes With A View Suite 1

We have stayed there for years. This most recent stay was good as well, just an increase and change in pricing with a $50 cleaning fee on top of the advertised rate which almost made us consider looking elsewhere but due to scheduling stayed the one night. Due to the increase in rates with a specific designation for cleaning, I did not leave a tip as I normally would, assuming the cleaning staff would receive the $50. Hopefully that is the case.

Just returned from a weekend stay at Holmes With A View. Accommodations for two were great. Only complaint was we were there for two nights but only had one juice and yogurt per day for two people. It was still awesome and we will be booking our next visit soon.

Stayed in suite #1, no complaints. Amazing view and very quiet/peaceful. Will be back again !

We’ve been coming to Holmes with a View for 10 plus years and have recommended it to many of our family and friends. When I called Fannie Mae for reservations this year, she told me the business had been sold. Everything was still good but there were a couple of changes from what we‘ve become accustomed to. In the past we’ve always had plenty of juice, yogurt and bread to last throughout our stay and Fannie Mae always said to call if we needed more. This year, upon our arrival, there were only 2 bottles of juice, 2 containers of yogurt and one very small (almost dinner roll size) loaf of bread. In your defense, I did call and more juice arrived that night. Since Holmes With a View is advertised as a B&B (unless it’s changed) enough breakfast for 2 people for their entire stay should be provided as it was in the past. Also in the past we’ve always gotten a “senior citizen discount” which we didn’t get this year and and a new charge for a “cleaning fee” was added plus an envelope was left in the unit for what I assume was a “tip” for the cleaning lady. This is still a great place and we thank you for that. We may return but we will have to consider the price - if it continues to rise and the amenities continue to decrease. There is one concern about the door locks. If the code doesn’t change with each guest, (this year it was the same as it was in October) what’s to stop a previous guest from coming in while a new guest is there? Thanks again and we wish you good luck with this new adventure.

Our most recent stay at Holmes with a View was every bit as enjoyable as our two previous stays. The accommodations are wonderfully comfortable and quiet. We were happy to see the same amenities under the new ownership/management. The only thing we noticed was that the loaf of locally-made bread had shrunk since our visit last fall. If we were to recommend one upgrade to Suite 1, it would be to install a new toilet that sits a little higher.

Our stay at Holmes with a View was wonderful as always! The place is always clean, comfortable, homey and very inviting! And the view from the patio is so peaceful. We got to meet the new owner, Shaun who came over to fix the chirping smoke detector! He’s very nice and came right over when we called. Thanks Shaun for another wonderful stay. We look forward to many more visits in the future!

This is the second time we have stayed at this property and enjoy the lovely view. Everything was clean and plenty of linens, etc. Our only issue is the digital lock proved challenging with no instructions on how to relock the door.

We have previously stayed at Holmes with A View, but after making reservations several months ago, learned it was under new ownership. Nothing had been updated on the website, except for the price. A generic e-mail was generated upon the initial deposit stating they would return shortly regarding the practicalities, but we received nothing in over two months, even after I emailed several times and tried calling, only to reach someone else. Lightbulbs in the suite we stayed in were either burnt out or not all the same, including in the bathroom, making it difficult to see. The trim at the top of the wall above the bed was so thick with dust that we cleaned off to avoid floating in the air and irritating allergies. In conclusion, it made us very uncomfortable that we were not able to reach those responsible.

We enjoy each stay at Holmes with a View. It is very comfortable, relaxing and convenient to all the places that we love to visit.

Hello Mr Troyer. My wife and I have been visiting the are for the last 10 years. Many of those years staying at Holmes with a View. While we always enjoy our stay, this time was a bit disappointing. We we not able to to lock the door which made us lose precious time. There is no one close by to help with any emergencies. We invited 3 other couples who also had to wait as well because they’re not familiar with area. In talking with you on the phone I mentioned how there is a key lock that should hold a key that I could use to secure your property. I understand changes happen but was very surprised that there is no one available in case of emergencies. I’ve booked to be there July 27th and hope all goes well as I’m bringing my 83 year old mother in law. Also, there seems to be an ant infestation in suite 3 that ruined fresh backed that was just purchased. In Suite 2 there were no complimentary juices at all. The cut backs were noticed immediately. We regularly recommend your establishment. Was a bit disappointed. The view however remains stunning!
